The X71 not only sets new standards in the field of modern digital cameras, it is also the heart of all our scanners. Our CMOS sensor technology is the key element of the system and enables high-resolution capturing of archive materials, books, cards, seals and objects of various sizes and structures. The X71 camera is characterized by first-class image quality, flexible handling and an incredible scanning speed.

Professional UV / IR and ozone free lighting system. With a light exposure of less than 2,500 lux and a service life of over 50,000 operating hours, the highest conservation and ecological requirements are met. The Fresnel lenses specially developed for the book2net lighting units are a major technological advantage over classic lighting units. They ensure perfect light distribution and illumination. Unwanted and annoying gradients and reflection effects that otherwise occur in very light or very dark surfaces and also with shiny materials are avoided.

Two operating modes:
1) Flash: The lamps light up slightly for the scan and then reduce their intensity again immediately after the scan. A heating up of the room, often annoying with permanent light, is avoided and at the same time the service life of the light units is extended considerably.

2) Continuous light: On request, it is possible to work with a higher “lamp bias”, whereby the “brightening effect”, if it is perceived as annoying, is omitted.

Fragile historical books, modern books, magazines, documents, files or bounded materials – the new self-regulating, conservational book cradle can handle wide variety of items. It guarantees a particularly gentle treatment of the original and enables a quiet, motionless scanning process.
The adjustable spine release enables particularly careful handling of very sensitive or thick books.
The support surface is optionally available with a scratch-resistant special film or provided with a reflection-free, smooth lacquer coating. The book-friendly, transparent Makrolon® pressure plate can be used flexibly and can be removed quickly and easily if necessary. Depending on the requirements, the scan is triggered either via new sensitive touch fields (Smooth Touch) or via foot switch.

The book2net Folio can optionally be supplied with a transparent, book-friendly Makrolon® pressure plate. The plate can be easily mounted and removed as required.

Thanks to its high depth of focus of 12 cm and the optical book fold optimization (BFO) specially integrated into our matrix sensor technology, the book2net Folio guarantees constant image sharpness over the entire original surface and thus delivers excellent scan result also on uneven, wavy surfaces. This applies in particular to the difficult book fold and edge areas. Due to the exceptional matrix sensor technology, no subsequent manipulation or mathematical correction of the image data is necessary. The image data are thus available unaltered as raw data for digital archiving and further processing. In addition, thanks to its sharp contours, the scan result is ideal for precise OCR reading.

In addition to the larger image display, the new 23ʺ touchscreen monitor offers the functionality of a proof monitor and increases operating comfort through the clear and larger display of the operating buttons. The special thumbnail overview with drag-and-drop also enables quick and easy inserting, deleting or moving. The innovative embedded controller technology with SSD storage and a 64-bit system accelerates our data processing by up to 64% and significantly reduces the scanning time. USB capacity display is just as much a part of our ergonomic concept as electronic release buttons.
