Perfect digitized images with 3D effects

The name says it all: Apeiron – the unlimited. There are virtually no limits to the HD Apeiron/42, especially when it comes to document size. It can handle formats up to 1.62 meters long and 1.11 meters wide and scans them in incredible quality thanks to the perfect interplay of hardware and software.

The HD Apeiron/42 was developed in particular for digitizing and reproducing large-scale works of art such as paintings and posters, but it is also used in the industrial sector for reproducing building materials and textiles. During the scanning process, the large scanning table moves on a rail under the focusing plane, which captures the original gently and without contact. Six cameras with Fujifilm lenses are installed in the focal plane, as well as Toshiba sensors and ellipses with LED lights. The HD Apeiron/42 does not use UV or infrared light, only the range of natural light is used. Depending on the setting, the illumination ellipses can emphasize certain areas of the original or create shadow effects, so that a 3D effect of the surface structure is achieved.

But it’s not just the size of the original that is virtually unlimited, the HD Apeiron/42 also offers plenty of scope in terms of thickness: the focal plane can be effortlessly raised to a height of up to around 13 cm. This can be conveniently controlled via the 22-inch display, which can be adjusted to the most comfortable position on a swivel arm in the interests of ergonomic working. The touch screen display is also easy to operate. The user interface is clear and self-explanatory, but the technology behind it is sophisticated. Numerous settings can be made, such as specifying that the surface of the original is uneven before scanning. It also shows the point to which the focal plane must be moved up or down so that the original is completely sharp and perfectly digitized. Post-processing a digitized image is also easy to use and offers a wide range of options.

The HD Apeiron/42 combines all the factors that enable optimal and safe scanning. This means you don’t have to worry about damaging valuable originals such as works of art or other unique items. The interplay of cameras, sensors and lighting units also ensures perfect color reproduction, razor-sharp results and an enormous range of potential effects that can highlight the characteristics of surfaces. The package is complemented by the features of an ergonomic workstation and the wide range of software options that can be conveniently accessed via the touch screen. Whether in a museum, in industry or in a copy shop there are plenty of good reasons to choose the HD Apeiron/42.
